Proud to announce – once again DigiVäv gets more funding! For the second year in a row the Region of Västra Götaland (VGR) has granted our project DigiVäv funding. Basis for VGR’s assesment:
“Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan is seeking funds to run the project Digiväv in phase two, namely to make available and disseminate the old weaving techniques through digital platforms. The project is run in collaboration with Slöjd i Väst , The Interactive Institute and Changemaker AB and based on participatory practices workshops. The project has their base in Sjuhärad and Västra Götaland, and cooperation is ensured through the Textilhögskolan and Fristads Folkhögskola. Nämnden för Hemslöjdsfrågor co-finances the project with 150.000 SEK.” “…Through its open and participatory torn project form Digiväv can not only act as a bridge between then and now but also inspire new generations to weaving with the help of new technology.”
DigiVäv – short description 2014-2016
“In order to preserve, develop and pass on the available knowledge of weaving into the future, we are developing an interactive, participatory, digital platform in cooperation with Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan and The Interactive Institute. By exploring and developing a platform in participation with the target audience the project aims to serve as a vibrant meeting place for weavers, be they amateurs or professionals; foster collaboration among various stakeholders that promotes and develops weaving and weaving, and introduces weaving to new audiences. In this project, we also want to test and develop new forms and ways of co-creation and participatory documentation, activities and experiences through innovative use of modern digital tools and techniques.”
